MY EQUESTRIAN JOURNEY
At the age of five, I learned to ride in a slippery old Stubben saddle on the lunge line. I then joined the local Pony club, which was the best start for me, and eventing quickly became my passion. In my teenage years, I retired my thoroughbred Suds and took a hiatus from riding to travel the world as a model. When I bought a former jumper named Chewy, horses again took over my life. I intended on jumping him but he was no longer interested in the discipline, so we started dressage lessons with Eleonore Elstone. I quickly became her working student and after four years of early mornings and working 8 horses a day, I developed my seat and skill for dressage. I realized this is what I wanted to do, and worked hard to earn my coaching certification and develop my eye for judging. I have worked with some of the top riders in dressage, including Anky Van Grunsven Adelinde Cornelissen, Ellen Bontje, and Albrecht Heidemann. I cherry picked nuggets of knowledge from each of them, in addition to my dressage idol, Klaus Balkenhol. I'm a firm believer in the classical German training system and keep my horses as natural as possible, as they thrive on my farm in Abbotsford with daily pasture turnout.
Happy riding!
